Backup Power & Generators
Do I really need a backup generator if outages are rare here?
PSPS events in Santa Clarita and the San Fernando Valley have increased every fire season since 2018. The two-day outage you experienced last year may be a three-day outage next year. A backup generator isn't preparing for a once-in-a-decade event — it's preparing for what's now an annual one. We'll walk through your specific neighborhood's outage history during a free assessment.
Are you really authorized by Generac, or just selling their stuff?
We're an authorized Generac dealer and installer — verifiable on Generac's dealer locator at generac.com. That means manufacturer-trained installation, manufacturer warranty registered correctly, and access to Generac parts and support for the life of your system. We're also authorized by Kohler and Briggs & Stratton.
How long does a backup generator installation take?
The generator itself typically takes one day to install. Permitting through LA County or the relevant city jurisdiction runs 5–10 business days; we handle all permit applications and inspection coordination.
Panel Upgrades
How long does panel upgrade installation take?
For a typical residential 200A service upgrade in the Santa Clarita Valley, the on-site work is one day. Permitting through LA County usually takes 5–10 business days; we handle the application and the inspection coordination. You'll be without power for 4–6 hours during the upgrade itself.
Do I need a panel upgrade before getting an EV charger?
Not always — but we evaluate your panel during the EV charger consultation. Often a panel upgrade is paired with the charger installation. Sometimes a dedicated subpanel makes more sense than a full main-panel upgrade. We'll explain options in plain English, with transparent pricing.
EV Charger Installation
Can you install an EV charger if my panel doesn't have capacity?
Yes — that's a very common situation. We'll evaluate your panel during the EV charger consultation. Often a panel upgrade is paired with the charger installation. Sometimes a dedicated subpanel makes more sense than a full main-panel upgrade. We'll explain options in plain English, with transparent pricing.
What's the difference between Level 1 and Level 2 EV charging?
Level 1 uses a standard 120V outlet and adds roughly 3–5 miles of range per hour of charging. Level 2 uses a dedicated 240V circuit (the same type as a dryer or oven) and adds 25–40 miles per hour. For most daily drivers, Level 2 is what makes EV ownership practical.
Licensing, Permits & How We Work
Do you offer 24/7 emergency service?
Our crews work Monday through Saturday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. If you have a genuine emergency — smoke, sparks, a burning smell, or downed wiring — call 911 first, then report it to your electricity provider (SCE or LADWP) so they can cut power to the line. For urgent electrical problems that aren't dangerous, call your nearest location during business hours and we'll help you figure out the safe next step: Santa Clarita (888) 441-9606 or Valley Glen (818) 812-6441.
How do I verify your license?
CSLB license #938027 is searchable at cslb.ca.gov. Enter the license number in the "Check a License" tool. You'll see the license status, bonding, and insurance confirmation.
Do you pull permits for electrical work?
Yes. Every project that requires a permit gets one — we handle the application, submit the required documentation, and coordinate with the city or county inspector. Permit-skipping creates liability for you as a homeowner and voids manufacturer warranties. We don't offer no-permit jobs.
