When SCE implements a Public Safety Power Shutoff — to prevent energized lines from igniting in high-wind, high-fire-risk conditions — most of the valley goes dark. Saugus, Canyon Country, Castaic, and the communities nearest Bouquet Canyon Road have experienced multi-day shutoffs in recent fire seasons.
